 Introduction
The Faraway Traveller (Gallery Travel Ltd also trading as Truly Australia) is a fully bonded travel agent member of ABTA no. A1485; we also have a separate bond (ABTA no. W5912) which is primarily used for 'land only' bookings.
For inclusive holiday products shown on this website we act as retail agents for bonded ATOL (Air Tour Operators Licence) tour operators; the ATOL protection for arrangements booked through us extends primarily to clients who book and pay in the UK.  For 'land only' bookings (such as with the USA-based animal watching tour operator Natural Habitat Adventures, or arrangements from our Truly Australia section), financial protection for clients is from our ABTA bond no W5912 - provided that the booking and payment is made through The Faraway Traveller (Gallery Travel Ltd) and not direct with the foreign operator or product supplier.   Any flights which might be booked for these land-only arrangements will be a separate transaction where the ATOL tour operator's confirmation invoice will be passed on to the client.
Whilst The Faraway Traveller is bound by the ABTA travel agents' 'Code of Conduct', the Booking Conditions of the relevant tour operator/third party would normally apply to any bookings that we make; clients will be advised of these Booking Conditions along with the name of the tour operator(s) or travel supplier(s) and any applicable ATOL licence number(s), before any travel arrangements are confirmed.
NOTE: Although a retail travel agent does not normally have any particular Booking Conditions of its own, The Faraway Traveller feels that in the new e-commerce trading environment, it is helpful to outline its own role and to set out  some of the likely conditions that tour operators impose
 Tour Operator/Third Party Booking Conditions
Clients booking travel arrangements through The Faraway Traveller will be made aware of the specific Booking Conditions of relevant tour operators/third parties BEFORE booking and will be expected to acknowledge this in writing, usually by signing the tour operator/third party Booking Form.
Although Booking Conditions do vary amongst tour operators, in broad terms the key elements are usually similar, in that:
* a signed Booking Form together with a non-refundable deposit are required when booking
* the balance is normally payable 8-13 weeks before departure
* amendment fees and/or cancellation fees apply to any changes made by clients
* alterations/cancellations by the tour operator may be permitted, however for changes made close to departure some compensation may be payable by the operator
* personal travel insurance is normally recommended to be taken out by clients making a booking and some operators may require an 'Insurance Disclaimer Form' to be completed if you have arranged your own travel insurance.

Any exceptions to this will be advised to clients before booking.
